The Guide
Founder: Matthew “Pescado” Parker
A 5th generation native to Dayton Ohio, I started my fly fishing passion as a child chasing smallmouth by the banks of the Little Miami. Passed down by my father, fly fishing has been a way of life since a kid. During college, I established a guiding business while pursing a career as a Wildlife Biologist for the local county agency. This introduced me to beautiful and vast river ecosystems that surrounds the Greater Dayton Area. Changing careers, I pursued a lifetime dream to become a General Manager and Head Guide for a fly shop. This experience elevated my fly fishing knowledge and ability to a whole new level. Now at the University of Dayton, my mission of service and community reflects not only in my career but my fly fishing passion in educating the true value of our community and what its natural resources has to offer.
